Christian Nehring deeded 8 acres to the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Dessau on March 3, 1874.
Christian Nehring deeded 10 acres (includes 8 acres previously deeded) to the trustees of the School at the Southern Church at Dessau on January 6, 1877. The land is to be used for "a grave yard and school house and church".
The surviving members of the Dessau Lutheran Church deeded the 1.37 acres that contain the cemetery to the Dessau Lutheran Cemetery Association on June 22, 1977.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Dessau deeded the remaining 8.234 acres to the Southwestern Texas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on October 25, 1994.
The Southwestern Texas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America deeded the 0.9334 acres that the church sits on to the Dessau Lutheran Cemetery Association on July 16, 2001.
The Southwestern Texas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America deeded the remaining 6.9415 acres to the Cornerstone Baptist Church on July 16, 2001.
Martin Wieland came to America by sailboat from Germany in 1854.
